I have a Gigabyte Z77M-D3H-MVP V1.1 with HD4000 and a Panasonic Plasma connected via HDMI and have the same issues using Windows 7. The board and HDMI onboard works fine until you install the Intel driver. The machine boots, displays BIOS screen, loading windows screen and when the windows login screen loads and then it drops the screen. (I'm certain that this is time when the driver is invoked).
Everything is fine with default VGA Windows 7 driver and booting into safe mode with the driver installed.
Intel driver works with a LCD monitor and VGA connector.
I've tried three revision versions of the intel driver and replicate the same problem over HDMI.
I also own another of the same board V1.0 which works fine with HDMI.
Based on my analysis it is not the cable or the TV, it an issue with the driver and a revision to the hardware.
This issue is also reported on other forums.
I find it hard to believe that such a significant bug exists.
