We're testing both ways actually... just did it again with TightVNC:
- booted the NUC without a monitor - TightVNC viewer sees it
- booted the NUC connected to an AV receiver to monitor - turned off the AV receiver - Tight VNC still sees it; then unplugged the HDMI cable completely from the NUC and TightVNC still sees it.
There's GOT to be something different, but still can't figure out what that might be.
